Often, most seek to guide us away from the dangers of the world for the world is a scary and unpredictable place. But sometimes we strive to serve a different purpose, a deeper purpose. Those occasions remind us that while we may be mortal, we cannot live in fear. So let us charge headlong down the muddy trail less traveled, knowing in our hearts that one of them may be our undoing, but not this one and not today.

The Dirty Kiln reminds us that we are capable of more than we know. Let us draw strength from our shared experiences and the support of our tribe, and continue to push ourselves beyond our limits and not let our fears hold us back.

We listened to you! Allegheny Trailrunners Inc. along with PA Conservation Society, Gesseytown Quarry and PennDot are happy to announce the completion of our newest project!
We have paved the entire Dirty Kiln course! This year, runners will enjoy 13.1 miles of sweet, runnable concrete! We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this project.

Allegheny Trailrunners along with Furrer Beverage is providing free beer to finishers at the Dirty Kiln Trail Race! We applied for a special permit with DCNR so please follow these restrictions: Beer can only be consumed in a special designated area - that means no beer beyond that area. RAMP-certified servers will check ID so you might want to get your ID after you finish. And the servers/Furrer Beverage will not sell you any beer.

We will also have lunch from Dn'D Farms/Smokey Pig and coffee and smoothies from Standing Stone Coffee Company <<--- on us!

We alternate the direction of the course every year, so this year (even) participants will go clockwise around the lake (just like in 2022). The short course (10K) has one climb while the half-marathon gives you six hills for you to conquer. Congratulations are in order for members of our Allegheny Trailrunners community! Hip, hip, hooray for Jami, Jamie, and Luke who participated in this weekend's Rabid Raccoon event near Beaver Falls in Western PA!
Jami Hall accomplished her first 100k, securing an outstanding 4th place finish among female runners! Notably, Jami has contributed her medical expertise to events like Dirty Kiln, Ironstone, and Rock 'N The Knob, and has previously served on our board of directors.
Jamie Harcar, once uncertain about completing our Rock 'N The Knob race, boldly tackled the Rabid Raccoon 100-mile race and emerged as the third top female finisher! Jamie has been an aid station captain Dirty Kiln in the past and will continue to do so this year.
Luke El Christopher Ebling took on the Trash Panda challenge, completing a 5K on Friday, a half-marathon on Saturday morning, and another half-marathon at midnight on Sunday. Luke has been an aid station captain at AS Throat Punch during Rock 'N The Knob events and has also served as an aid captain at Ironstone's Indian Steps.

In fact, we charge $7.45 a mile for the first 20-miles and then the next 40 miles is on us! What a deal! 😁😉
